The Path to Educational Excellence
MY JOURNEY
Who am I
Ever since I was a child, I've dreamed of standing in front of a classroom, sharing knowledge and inspiring young minds. My journey to becoming "Ms. Michelle," as my beloved students affectionately call me, was fueled by this unwavering passion, despite the challenges I faced along the way. Growing up in the Philippines, my ambition to enter the teaching profession was met with hesitation by my parents, primarily because of the modest financial rewards associated with this noble career. Nevertheless, my determination remained unshaken. After earning a bachelor's degree in communication arts, I ventured to China, a move that marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life.
Initially, my goal was to master Mandarin, and so I enrolled in a language training center. In a serendipitous turn of events, I was presented with an opportunity that would forever change my path — the center requested that I teach English in exchange for my language lessons. This unexpected offer was the doorway to realizing my childhood dream. Teaching not only allowed me to embrace the role I've always yearned for but also to connect with and impact countless students.
I believe in constant growth, and achieving certification is not just about fulfilling a professional requirement; it's about officially validating my commitment to educational excellence and my dedication to my students' future. It represents a milestone in my ongoing journey to not just teach, but inspire and make a tangible difference in the educational landscape.

MY EXPERIENCES

Kindergarten
Teaching kindergarten is a unique and rewarding experience that offers countless opportunities to shape the minds and attitudes of young learners. Watching children grasp the fundamentals of reading, writing, and numeracy is incredibly fulfilling, knowing you've played a part in laying the foundation for their future learning. Moreover, there's a profound sense of accomplishment in nurturing their curiosity and watching their personalities and social skills flourish in a structured yet creative environment. It’s a role that not only educates but also inspires, leaving a lasting impact not just on the students, but on the teacher as well.

2nd Grade
My one year teaching 2nd grade gave me a uniquely rewarding experience as it allowed to build on the foundational skills that students have acquired in earlier grades. Witnessing the students' enhanced ability to read and write with greater fluency is incredibly gratifying, marking a key milestone in their educational journey. There's also the joy of fostering a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts, which is essential for their future academic success. Additionally, I played a crucial role in developing students' social skills and self-confidence, created an environment where young learners thrive both academically and personally.

4th Grade
Teaching 4th grade had been an invigorating challenge, that pushed me to adapt and expand on the solid foundation set in earlier grades. It was fascinating to guide students as they delved deeper into complex subject matter, especially in areas like critical thinking and problem-solving. In 4th grade, I had the privilege of nurturing not just academic growth, but a love for learning that students will carry with them throughout their educational careers. Seeing them start to make connections between different subjects and the world around them was particularly rewarding, showcasing the importance of encouraging curiosity and engagement at this pivotal stage.
